Join Landmarks on May 15 to Celebrate Historic Preservation Month Whim Welcomes National Trust to St. Croix This Week

(Frederiksted, St. Croix – May 10, 2024) – St. Croix Landmarks Society invites the public to join them at Estate Whim Museum on Wednesday, May 15 as they celebrate Historic Preservation Month and welcome a representative of the National Trust for Historic Preservation to St. Croix. As one of the 2024 America’s 11 Most Endangered Historic Places, Estate Whim Museum is receiving the attention of the national preservation organization including a visit to St. Croix next week where they will meet with Landmarks leadership and other leaders in historic preservation across the island.

Executive Director Sonia Jacobs Dow said that next Wednesday Estate Whim Museum will open from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. as usual with guided tours and lunch available for purchase. The museum will host student groups from 9:00 to 12 Noon for Culture and History Workshops. Admission is $10 per person, $8 for senior citizens. Those interested in using the Library and Archives should email library@stcroixlandmarks.org for an appointment. “We would like to encourage the public to join us on Wednesday to learn more about what the designation means for Estate Whim Museum and for St. Croix,” she said.
