Every year when Landmarks Society's Candlelight Concert Season begins, teachers all over the island make plans to bring their students to the "Listen & Learn" Concert Workshops at Island Center for the Performing Arts. Students are offered an opportunity to attend a world class concert in a theatre setting, meet with artists and participate in an interactive workshop experience. Students are motivated and encouraged while exploring musical possibilities in their own future. This year, we are pleased to announce and present the "Victor Borge Listen & Learn Program" in recognition of a generous gift from the Sanna and Victor Borge Memorial Fund. Victor Borge (1909-2000), world renowned Danish classical concert pianist, humorist and entertainer, was without question, one of the best entertainers of the 20th century. Mr. Borge had a home on St. Croix for over 30 years and performed many times for the benefit of local organizations. This gift from the Borge family will continue his legacy of wonderful musical performances, sharing the world of classical music with over 2,500 St. Croix students.
